"The 1,500m is my favorite event. It’s the perfect balance between the aerobic and anaerobic systems. You need the endurance of a long distance runner combined with the speed of a sprinter.
I won the British National University Championships at 1,500m back in the 1980s and managed to run a personal best of 3:45.
